Putting Greased Lighting Multi Purpose Cleaner To the Test

Greased Lightning logoWe (well mostly Phil) did a lot of cooking this past holiday season. With cooking, comes messes, and since he loves to fry certain foods, we certainly wound up with a mess. When we finally slowed down from all the holiday hustle and bustle, it was time to deal with the mess. One particular trouble area was the stovetop. It was a mess of caked on grease and baked on food. Yuck! Luckily, I was recently offered the opportunity to try out Greased Lightning multipurpose cleaner and degreaser.

Greased Lighting Multi Purpose Cleaner is touted as a one stop solution for everything; Whether it is a routine cleaning or a major mess that needs tackled this cleaner can handle it. It can also be used to tackle laundry and carpet stains, With that said, I decided to put it to the test.

My greasy stovetop

Getting ready to put Greased Lightning to the test on my greasy stove top

I sprayed on some greased lightning and let it stand

Stove top is looking so much better!

First I tried it in the bathroom. It did a great job at removing soap scum in the tub. Next up, I decided to tackle the stove. The directions say to spray on and then rinse off. So I did just that. I sprayed it on, let it sit for about 5 minutes and then rinsed it off. Here, it didn’t do as great a job. While it did loosen some of the baked on food, I really had to scrub to get the grease off the stove. Perhaps it was because the grease was really caked on.

Nevertheless, it did work well in the bathroom, and I will continue to use it to clean both of my bathrooms. I am also interested in using it as a laundry pre-treater.
