My Revlon Expression Experiment

I was recently invited to participate in the Revlon Expression Experiment.  Through the Expression Experiment campaign, Revlon wants to encourage women to empower themselves by making changes to their makeup regimen.

When it comes to makeup, I typically don’t wear a lot of it.  I usually throw on a little nude lipstick and some lip gloss and I’m just about done.  I tend to keep it simple, so I was ready to do a little experimenting.

Revlon sent me an Expression Experiment kit.  It was filled with great products.  Specifically, the kit included:

  • Revlon Colorstay 005 Base Coat
  • Revlon Colorstay 090 Sorbet
  • Revlon Colorstay 010 Top Coat
  • Revlon Photoready 002 Color Correcting Primer
  • Revlon Photoready Eye Primer + Brightener
  • Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick 720 Fire & Ice
  • Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick 740 Certainly Red
  • Revlon Colorstay 16 Hour Eye Shadow 540 Inspired
  • Revlon Colorstay 16 Hour Eye Shadow 530 Seductive
  • ColorBurst Lip Butter in Cherry Tart

They had several challenges to choose from, but I chose only two, namely, the Daring Nail challenge and the Red lipstick Challenge.

Daring Nail Challenge

REvlon Nail Polish

I hardly wear color on my nails.  In fact, when I go for manicures, I usually opt for clear nail polish mainly because doing household chores always causes my polish to chip much quicker than I’d like.

I really liked the Sorbet nail color.  It’s very summery and looks good on my nails.

Red Lipstick Challenge
This was really a challenge because I would never think to wear red lipstick.  For some reason, I didn’t think that I would look good in red lipstick.  I stick to neutral tones, so red lipstick just seemed like it would be way too bright.  But to my surprise, it seemed to look ok.  What do you think?

Trying on the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Cherry Tart

I tried the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Cherry Tart and loved it.  It’s not really a lipstick, it’s actually more like a lip gloss.  It’s very hydrating and my lips felt super moisturized since it contains mango, shea and coconut butter.  I loved the fact that the color was not too intense.  I will definitely wear this more often!

Now it’s your turn to challenge yourself.  Be sure to join the movement of self-expression with the Revlon Expression Experiment Facebook Application!

My make up routine consists of covering the dark circles under my eyes (LOL), occasional eye shadow and mascara. Period. I don’t have time to gussy up. If I can’t be ready in 15 minutes or less, forget about it!

    PS: You are gorgeous!

What a fun summer color for the nails. And the lipstick looks fabulous on you. It brightens up your face. You should defintely wear it more often.

I admit when I saw “red lipstick” I was thinking like 50s pinup lips, but that really does look great!

I like the finger nail polish. My daughter would love it. However she’s can’t get her finger nails painted until she stop sucking her fingers.

I love the Sorbet! I’m always a little leery of nail polish, since sometimes the color in the bottle isn’t how it looks on your nails. Glad to see first-hand (no pun intended) how it looks on a real person!
