Heelys, which are basically shoes with wheels, have been around for quite some time, and I have always secretly wanted to try them out, but they were never offered in adult sizes. Well, Heelys recently expanded their product line so that adults can join in on the fun. Funny enough, I received an invitation to try out a pair of Heelys. At first I was really psyched about trying them out. But then Philip knocked me back to reality by reminding me of how klutzy I am. He’s right, of course, so I decided to ordered a pair for my nephew to try out instead.
The Heelys product line is pretty extensive. Their shoes come in a wide range of colors and styles. They are also available in either one-wheeled or two-wheeled styles. We chose the Straight Up Shoes pictured below which only has one wheel.
When the Heely’s arrived, my nephew was eager to put them to the test right away. He popped in the wheels and was ready to roll. He had worn them in the past so he already knew how to skate with them. But if you don’t know how to use these shoes with wheels, Heelys offers detailed video instruction on their sites Skate 101 section to help you learn the basics. They also offer up tons of safety tips.
My nephew also thinks that these are cool enough to wear as regular shoes without the wheels. He loves them!

Disclosure: I received a complimentary pair of Heelys to facilitate this review, but all opinions are my own. No monetary compensation has been received.

Sounds like interesting shoes. I think they might be fun to try as an adult, probably not everyday or to an office. lol

Just the same………to be a kid again.

LOL. I wish I was brave enough to try them!

My nephew tried these when they first came out. He never got the hang of rolling on them and fell a few times a gave up. Too bad, because the kids who figured it out seem to really have a lot of fun with them!

They do look like fun.
I suspect getting used to these can be a lot like anything with wheels. I never was so good on a skateboard, but I can roller skate and I ice skate well enough (well, all that means is I don’t spend most of the time on my bottom!). They sound like good fun and I have seen some kids whizzing around on them very competently. Great review, Diane, thanks for sharing.
