G is for Girls Night Out

mommys links glam me girls night out

As a mom, I have lots of responsibilities.  I take care of Z.E.N. 24-7, and between have a plethora of household chores and errands to run, I hardly get out.

When I heard that my friend Jennifer Nevadomski (“Jen”) was organizing a Girl’s Night Out event,  I jumped at the opportunity to attend.  Jen is the owner of Mommy’s Links which is a social network geared towards moms in the NYC tri-state area.  She invited moms and non-moms to come out for a night of glamour and fun, at a NYC bar and what a night it was.  Nearly one hundred women came out to join in on the fun.

It was great to finally meet some of the people with whom I’ve only connected with online.  Meeting them in real life was amazing and made me realize that the internet is a great tool which allows us to find great people who share the same interests.

There were many vendors there offering a wide range of services including tarot card readings, hair styling, manicures, mini massages, and more.  I treated myself to a mini massage and manicure.  I then discovered a few other services being offered and decided to try them too.

First up, I had my eyebrows threaded.  It stung a bit, but it was well worth it.  Threading allows for more precise work so no stray hairs to worry about.  I really love the end result.

I also tried the henna tattoos.  I got my tattoo on the palm of my hand because the henna tattoo artist stated that it would last longer if I placed it there.  It only took a few minutes, but it came out fabulous.  This is what it looked like right after it was done.  The ink was still wet in this picture.

I seriously can’t wait for the next girls night out event.

Awesome! I love girls night out events – we host one from time to time but it’s never been this large. You have me thinking that we need to get a Henna tattoo artists out. We’ve had massage, pedicure, couture bakery – we try to do something good for us and to us as about once a month. Hmmmm…..let me see what I can come up with! Great post.
