February Photo-A-Day Photography Challenge – Self Portrait

So I’ve decided to participate in a photography challenge.  More specifically, the February Photo-A-Day Challenge.  I decided to join as a way to challenge myself to take more photos.

Today’s challenge was to take a self portrait.  I don’t really like to have my picture taken because I think I come our horrible in photos, which is why I don’t put up a lot of photos on places like Facebook for instance.  To make matters worse, I looked a mess today.  My hair was pulled back and sticking out in certain spots, plus, I have some roots showing.  Ugh!

I wound up taking a LOT of shots and settled on these two.  One with my glasses and one without my glasses. P1000938

I’m not happy with the shadows.  I guess I need better lighting?

I’m looking forward to hearing your tips!

If you want to join in on the fun, be sure to head over to the Fresh Simply blog and jump right into the challenge.

I’m so glad you’re participating! It’s nice putting a recent face with blogs :) Those FB profile pictures don’t get updated very often it seems.

You look great in both! The 2nd one is a little better only because of the lighting – it’s brighter and easier to see you!

Thanks for your comment. I agree. I think the 2nd one is better because of the natural light that was coming in through the window.

You look absolutely beuaitful in both, though I must say the first looks like you forced a smile a little bit. Still nice tho. The second one looks more natural. Next time you take a self-portrait, try to concentrate on something that makes you happy and show those pearly whites. An open smile reveals more beauty; I think anyway.
