As I mentioned in my previous post about decorating for the holidays, one of the items we purchased while shopping at the Sears Holiday Shop was a Christmas train set for Z.E.N.
As soon as we got home, he insisted that we had to set it up. We had a long day and I really didn’t feel like working on I that night, but Z.E.N. is very persistent and wouldn’t take no for an answer so I agreed.
We first worked on the track. This was no easy feat. See the tracks have to snap into each other and this was proving to be very difficult for me. Then the “master” decided to try his hand at putting the track together.
At first we connected the train tracks into a circle, but hen we realized that the circle would be a bit small around our tree, so we had to disassemble and make it into an oval shape.
It took us a while, but we finally got it up and running!
Since we had no place else to put it, I decided to set it up on our coffee table. I covered the table in a red tablecloth to make it look more festive and laid the train set on top of the covered table.
With that out of the way, I took inventory of our recent purchases from Sears and got to work trying to make the house look even more festive.
We have a wrought iron railing that cordons off the living room area. I decided to wrap the red garland we purchased around the railing and then hung our stockings from the garland covered railing.
Z.E.N. placed the little jingle bells wreath on the door knob.
I placed red bows on the hand rail.
And finally, I set up a little holiday card display.
Although we didn’t do a whole lot, the changes that I did make certainly makes the house looks pretty merry thanks to Sears!
In case you missed it, wanted to let you know that I have shared photos of my initial shopping experience at Sears here in my Google+ Account! Go take a peek!
