Last week I gave you a brief overview of the Chuck Season 4 finale, but I didn’t talk much about the proposal. If you’ve been following the Chuck series, you will know that Chuck has tried to propose to Sarah on several occasions, and each time something happened which got in the way of the proposal. He originally planned a nice elaborate and romantic proposal, but sometimes things just don’t work out as we planned.
He finally gets to propose in episode 13 of Season 4. While the setting was not very romantic, he got the job done! Chuck proposes to Sarah in a hallway of the hospital where his sister Ellie has just given birth. Chuck and Sarah are holding hands and all of a sudden, Chuck looks at Sarah, sweeps a piece of hair from her face, and decides to just go for it. We hear the song “Young Blood” by The Naked and Famous playing in the background, and see Chuck stand up and take the ring box out of his pocket. He then gets down on one knee and proposes. While the proposal was silent, we all know Sarah’s answer because we see her lean in and kiss Chuck.
This wasn’t the proposal that Chuck had envisioned, but even so, it was beautiful. Sometimes just the simple things in life make a big impact.
