About the Blog

To make a long story short:  Diane is a mom who enjoys life and all it has to offer.   It’s the simple things in life that keeps her happy.  Through this blog, she wants to inspire moms to find Zen in their lives while offering practical parenting tips and other valuable information to help families deal with everyday issues.

The not-quite-as-short version of a much longer story: What does Philzendia Mean?  Philzendia is a fusion of my name, my husband’s name and my son’s name.  I originally started this blog using the name “Oh Diane” but I realized that the name wasn’t very brand-able because it was popular in other arenas.  So I wanted to came up with a name that was (1) brand-able, and (2) incorporated my family because first and foremost, my family means the world to me and I talk about them a lot. So please feel free to browse around and see what goes on Philzendia – our little place in the world.

About Me

I am a mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister and a good friend. I live a simple life and strive to maintain a happy and healthy family.  I am also passionate about a variety of issues that impact the lives of moms and women in general.  I write about: parenting, food, products, travel, family life, blogging and more.

My Background

A graduate of The City University of New York and Rutgers School of Law – Newark, Diane spent the first years of her work life in government, working for the city of New York.  She then moved on to corporate America where she negotiated complex derivative agreements for some of this country’s largest commercial banks.   She quickly became tired of corporate politics, and turned to the internet for her next  opportunity.   She began freelancing and produced several niche websites and now blogs at numerous blogs. SEO and using social media has become Diane’s specialty.

 My Personal Life

A native New Yorker, Diane now lives with her family (husband Philip, and son Z.E.N.) in Piscataway, NJ.  Although a die-hard New Yorker and a city girl at heart, she adores living in Suburbia.  She loves reading, writing, snapping pictures and spending time with her family.
