Hi, I’m Diane and I bet you’re all wondering what philZENdia means.
It’s really quite simple. Philzendia (fil-zen-dee-a) is a fusion of my husband’s name (Philip), my son’s initials (Z.E.N.) and my name (Diane)
I’m a 40-something mom who was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. In 2004, I married the love of my life and moved to New Jersey. Two years later, we welcomed a bouncing baby boy into our lives. Although I consider myself to be a die-hard New Yorker and a city girl at heart, I adore living in Suburbia. I live a simple life and strive to maintain a happy and healthy family. I am passionate about a variety of issues that impact the lives of moms and women in general. I am also a sports mom who can be found shuttling my 8 year old son to and from basketball practice in the fall, and track meets in the spring. I love spending time with my family, vacationing, cooking, reading, and shopping!
Professionally, I hold a bachelor’s degree in Urban Legal Studies and a law degree from Rutgers School of Law – Newark. I spent the first years of my working life in government, working for the city of New York. I then moved on to corporate America where I negotiated complex derivative agreements for some of this country’s largest commercial banks. I left the corporate world in 2009 to spend more time with my young son and turned to the internet for my next opportunity. I began freelancing and produced several niche websites and blogs. Social media became one of my passions.
About the Blog
Life is multifaceted, and so is this blog! As a work at home mom, who works full time, my schedule can get pretty crazy and juggling the family calendar can be a challenge at times. Through this blog, I want to inspire moms to find Zen in their lives while offering practical tips and other valuable information to help families deal with everyday issues. I also talk about the ups and downs of life with husband Phil and son Z.E.N.
